Overview

Engineering Intern

Blue Currents designs and builds containerized water and power systems that operate at the point of need, and we deploy them ourselves. As an Engineering Intern, you'll be embedded in that work, supporting the team as Trident moves from design to fabrication.

The Role
You'll support mechanical design, fabrication planning, and testing on active Trident 1 and Trident Go builds, working alongside our engineering team on real components rather than a side project. This is hands-on: you'll spend time at the CAD station and on the shop floor, seeing how a design becomes a working system.

What You'll Do
Help develop drawings and assemblies, assist with fabrication and testing prep, and support documentation as Trident 1 moves toward its first build. You'll get exposure to the full lifecycle of a resilience infrastructure product, from concept through deployment.

What You'll Bring
Current enrollment in a mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering program, with a genuine interest in off-grid water and power systems. You're comfortable learning on the job and want to see your work matter beyond the classroom.

Bonus Points
Coursework or project experience in renewable energy, water treatment, or product design. A connection to the University of Miami is a real plus.

Why Blue Currents
We build our own systems because the hardware is the product as much as the water or power it delivers. You'll work on real units headed for real resorts and communities, alongside a team that designs, builds, and deploys everything in-house.
